SPRING, 85/365

A sure sign of "Spring," Theme #300, is the daily presence of the neighborhood groundhogs. Spotted this guy nosing around under the birdfeeders.
Looks all cute and cuddly, doesn't he? The little rascals can eat a backyard bare in no time flat. They are particularly fond of vegetable gardens and purple coneflowers.

  1. Nice catch. I haven't seen any of those in my back yard.

  2. Isn't that the truth! In the summer months these critters seem more prevalent than humans around here! ;-)

Love this shot - you've made the little guy look quite handsome!

  3. Great picture. Groundhogs can be a real nuisance, sometimes. I love to see one, however.

  11. We called them woodchucks growing up, but they are the same critter. I always loved spotting them. And we never answered the question of How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. Or of course the alternative, How much ground could a groundhog grind if a groundhog could grind ground. Charming photo!
