This is one mad "Painted," Theme #222, Turtle.
And apparently veryhungry or not the sharpest shell in the pond because he kept chasing the bait even after being snagged once.
Our grandson fished again the following day and Max was back at it--chasing after every cast. Eventually we lured him over to another spot with some bits of hot dog. Who knew turtles liked hot dogs so much?
Great detail in this turtle, what led you to try hot dogs ?
