ON THE ROAD, 12/365

I love these signs.

Why 5 1/2 MPH? Why not 5 or 10? Even 6 MPH?

And the speed bump? I peered over the front of our truck. Got out of the truck, drug my foot back and forth across the white line on the road. AHA! There is a bump under there. I can feel it now. More white line, than bump, but it's there.

Someone either has a great sense of humor or takes themselves way too seriously. Either way, I love it.

Speed bumps and road signs come in tonight under "On the Road," Theme #208.

  1. ok now see I'm more impressed by the 5 1/2 mile limit...how do you maintain that?

  2. That is hilarious, wonder how many speeders are encountered there. Great shot.

  3. This is like our town. They wanted to discourage cross-town traffic on two popular roads. So they put in speed humps every 1/4 block apart with 15 mph speed limit. Talk about uproar! The town still hasn't gotten over it; but people go to another road that the city wanted them to use in the first place.

  4. I hope the cat coming down the road obeys that speed limit and doesn't flip on the bump.

  5. I also have a smile on my face about the 5 1/2 mile limit - have never seen a 1/2 mile limit before.

  6. We have similar signs within our community, except they are "14 MPH." On another note, I just read your "First Loser" post. Thanks for the chuckle this morning. Your grandson is on his way to being a stand-up comic. (Just FYI, I think you should have won. Your photo is fantastic.)
