One of my favorite shots of the challenge to date!!! It must be enlarged to really appreciate it. The angle cutting across the photo, the stong contrast of the green and purple, and the delicate texture of the lacy wings - it all comes together into a superb photo.
Recently relocated. Owner of a massive pile of boxes, full and empty. Telecommutes most of the time so the "office" is anywehre I have a great internet connection and my portable hard drive.

There was a poem in a book called "Beastly Australians" - No not ME, (I think)
ReplyDeleteCalled the Christmas Beetle. Which included the lines;
When Christmas Comes, The Christmas heat'll
Bringonce more the Christmas Beetle
The first inflammatory breeze'll
Set him buzzing like a diesel'
See him Soar - See him Settle,
Folding up his wings of metal
See some sparrow, frail and lowly:
Strike him swiftly rend him wholly!
Your post made this poem jump into my mind so i thought I would share, Don't forget, Down Under Christmas is Hot Hot Hot!
Lovely, and very clever for this theme.
ReplyDeleteit does look like metal, especially the wings, I love the detail you got.
