CLASSIC 157/365

An unexpected bit of "Classic," Theme #52, art from Greek Mythology under the road and railways of west Cincinnati. I love the way the artists took something decaying and crumbling and turned into beauty.

PHOTOGRAPHER, 154/365

Take a good look. This is Andj. Someday she'll be a well known "Photographer," Theme #233, and you can say you knew her when she was just starting out.
She tagged along while we were working with her big sister on a 4-H photography project. Turns out little sis has an artist's eye for a photo so she was handed a camera and turned loose on the world as well.

MISMATCHED, 153/365

The electric fence in the immediate foreground seems a little "Mismatched," Theme #186, against the backdrop of an Amish farmstead.

STOP THE ACTION, 148/365

I wanted a photo of her up in the old tree. She, of course, was far more interested in jumping out of the tree than in posing among the branches. Even though I couldn't stop the jump, I did manage to "Stop the Action," Theme #304.

THE GAMES WE PLAY, 147/365

It's been 18 months since I closed the daycare and our young friends were surprised during a recent visit to discover I don't have a room full of toys and activity supplies at our new home. I did have one of the old "Games We Play," Theme #319, tucked away in a closet.

FOOTWEAR, 146/365

My sister and her husband have hosted 2 young men this past year through a student foreign exchange program. These boys have become part of our family and we all gathered to say goodbye to them this past weekend. I noticed a pair of Mauricio's Havaianas sitting by the back door and thought how much my sister will miss seeing his favorite "Footwear," Theme #107, scattered around the house.

ADOLESCENCE, 145/365

"Adolescence," Theme #8, is adolescence no matter where the kids are or where they come from. One of my sister's sons from the student foreign exchange program shows off his fishing skills to a girl he met here in the states.

FOREIGN, 144/365

My sister, brother-in-law and their two sons from a student "Foreign," Theme #109, exchange program. Mikkel and Mauricio came from Denmark and Brazil to spend the last school year as part of our family. We are all so sad to tell them goodbye now.

READING MATERIAL, 142/365

A music and used book store has an unusual stack of "Reading Material," Theme 252, on their front porch. This pillar was designed by the owners son and the books are meticulously made of wood. The name of each book relates somehow to a family member or bit of family history.
